As a former English teacher, I saw the challenges students and parents faced when trying to balance academic excellence, extracurriculars, and the daunting Common App and scholarship process.  A few years back, I began tutoring students on a one-on-one basis.  Immediately, I saw the impact tailored instruction has on student confidence and success.  My comprehensive approach to the essay writing process has produced exceptional college application essays as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship money.  Additionally, I coach junior high and high school students seeking extra support with their school literacy assignments and curriculum.

After spending most of my life in the Chicagoland area, my husband and I recently relocated to the Carmel/Zionsville area and couldn't be happier.  When I am not working, I enjoy playing guitar, watching live music, volunteering as an adult literacy teacher, attending Indycar races, and traveling with my family.

JULIA C.

I worked with Kathy throughout my senior year.  She helped me with every aspect of my college application to make sure my essay and resume were top-notch. When I started applying for scholarships, Kathy understood how to tailor each essay to each scholarship sponsor.  The scholarship essays I submitted resulted in multiple awards, covering my entire tuition and room and board at Marquette University.  Kathy was instrumental in coaching me in essay writing."

NAOMI L.

"My son was struggling with reading, writing, and keeping up with his assignments throughout 6th and 7th grade.  During his 8th grade year, Kathy worked tirelessly with him to improve executive functioning skills and his reading comprehension.  She helped identify a reading deficiency that hindered my son's ability to understand what he read. He is now entering his junior year of high school and thriving.  My son would not be where he is today without the one on one support Kathy provided.  She truly cared and it showed."

VERONICA C.

"When I started writing my college application essays, I didn't know where to begin. Not only did Kathy help me plan and write a meaningful Common App essay, she also coached me in writing over 25 scholarship essays.  I was awarded 7 scholarships, covering the cost of my entire freshman year tuition. Kathy was an expert in the writing process.  She helped make the application process manageable and less stressful."
